Night Eyes 2015

A few weeks ago we headed to Blank Park Zoo for their annual Night Eyes.  Basically the kids dress up and walk around the zoo and get candy.  They have a kids play area with bounce houses, the carousel is available to ride along with the train, and there are typically characters dressed up and walking around (the day we were there it was Clifford and Curious George).
Grady was so excited to ride the train; he thought it was so much fun that he didn't want to get off.  We went through a dark tunnel (he wasn't so sure about that) and we went back to lion and tiger cages and luckily they were all up and moving around.  It was really cool to see and I can't believe how big those cats are!

Grady had fun riding the carousel and wanted to do it again and again.  On our way out we say Curious George and once it was Grady's turn he ran so hard he knocked Curious George down.  If you ask him about it know he says, 'I runned really fast and knocked him over.'  'mommy, I runned reallllly fast.'

We have a busy weekend ahead with Beggars Night tonight, Halloween activities up town tomorrow, Jesse and I are going to celebrate our 7 year anniversary, and trying to get some more work done on my parents house.

Have a great weekend!

Center Grove Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago Jesse and I decided to head to Cambride, IA with Grady to go to the Center Grove Pumpkin Patch.  We went last year and Grady had so much fun and there are so many activities to do for all ages.  We ended up getting there around 10:30 am and started with feeding the goats.  Grady absolutely LOVED this and loved being able to see the animals up close and to touch some of them.
We headed to the ride pedal tractors next and that may have been Grady's favorite thing to do!  He loves tractors!  The corn bin was next, which was a building full of corn that the kids could play in.  Grady didn't know what to think of it when he first stepped in but loved it.  Once he started throwing the corn we knew it was time to move on.  We headed out to get some lunch and while we all ate Grady played on a slide and took bites in between.  It ended up being pretty cold that day but Grady toughed it out!

Once we were done with our lunch we headed to the big slide that Grady LOVES.  He had so much fun on it last year and again this year he wanted to go again and again!  Up next was the jumping pillow then a ride on the tractor.

Once we were done with those activities we headed out to the pumpkin patch.  Grady had so much fun riding out to the patch and once we got there he tried to pick out a pumpkin.  If they were bad pumpkins he would say,' that's gusting' (disgusting)'.  The kid cracks me up.
Once we got back from the pumpkin patch we went inside to get our caramel apple and apple cider doughnuts and headed home.  Grady has been asking me almost every weekend if we can go back to the 'punkin patch'.

Dustin & Shelby's Wedding

Dustin and Shelby had their wedding on September 26th.  We had a busy week that week that included a rehearsal dinner, football Friday, and the wedding Saturday.  By the time Sunday rolled around we were ready to relax. (WARNING...photo dump below)

Thursday night we had the rehearsal dinner at Brick House.  We all had a great time and it was so much fun to relax.  Friday I took the day off and spent more of the day running around trying to do and grab last minute things that we needed (Grady was a ring bearer and I was a bridesmaid in the wedding).  Friday night we headed to the football game to cheer Scooter on.
Saturday morning was an early one.  Everyone came to my house to get ready and it was a full house. We had our makeup and hair done at the house and headed to the barn around 12:30 pm.  IN the rush that I was in I ended up breaking the snap to keep my dress together; so with Ashlyn's help we managed to safety pin it and keep it up for most of the night (needless to say it was holy boobs the entire night).

Grady did great and rode in the wagon to go down the aisle and danced the night away.  I was so proud of him that he got a few presents for doing such a great job.  It was very warm that day so we spent most of the night outside looking at the cows and chickens and the owners of the pumpkin patch let the kids ride on the tractor and jump on the pillow.  We headed home around 10 pm as we were all exhausted.

Overall it was a great night and we all had a lot of fun.  I had one moment where I broke down but was able to get my shit together and move on with the day.  I miss my mom terribly and events/moments in time where she should be there are very hard.
